Music Director: Judith James, 879-0955 but preferred method of contact is by email JJames44@aol.com

The Adult Choir regularly meets for practice in the church on Sunday mornings from 8:45 to 10:15, and then participates in the 10:30 mass.  At some point close to the Christmas eve and Holy Week services, Thursday practices from 7 to 8:30 PM are added. You do not need to be able to read music or have a solo voice in order to make a contribution to the mass through your singing.  You also do not have to commit to the whole school year.

If you prefer, you may join in the fall and sing through Christmas Eve with its special music.  You might also join in January when we begin to prepare the music for Holy Week.  Because the rehearsals are on Sunday morning, if you have personal or professional commitments that prevent you from coming each week, you will be welcome to come and sing on just those Sundays that are available to you.  We attempt to rehearse more difficult anthems over a 2-3 week period.  Some portion of the fall and winter rehearsals will also be dedicated to the Christmas Eve 30-minute concert plus mass, and music for Holy Week, respectively.

The choir continues to sing special, but somewhat easier, music throughout the summer.  This last summer we had 17 singers (some different people each week) pretty much throughout the season.  Summer rehearsals are shorter, beginning at 9:30 or 9:45, and focus just on the music for the upcoming service.

This choir is an especially friendly group, and will warmly welcome you to this form of stewardship. In the fall of 2007, our choir has about 27 members.

Other Singing - There are other singing opportunities for people who cannot commit to the adult choir.  We normally have 5 or so singers who sit in the choir loft and help lead the hymn singing at the 7:30 mass.  There is no rehearsal for this.  Individual singers, in solos and duets, help lead the congregation each week in the singing of the Psalm and Alleluia at both masses.

Contemporary Music Group: plays every other Saturday at the 4:30 pm mass. If you sing or play guitar, flute, piano, violin or percussion instruments, we would love to have you join us! Rehearsals are Friday
evenings from 6:00 to 7:30 pm. For more information, please call Rick or Leanne Perron at 883-8730 or e-mail rlperron@maine.rr.com.

Children's Choir - Children who are able to read and are in the First to the Fourth grade are welcomed to join.  The Children's Choir is led by Martina Ousback, who can be reached at 883-0663.  Practices are held on Tuesdays from 4 to 5:30 PM in the Music Room, room 10.  The Choir sings every other Saturday at the 4:30PM Mass (e.g., October 13, 27, etc.).

Funeral Choir - This is supported both by regular choir members who are free to come, and by some singers who participate only on these occasions.  Most funerals take place at 9 or 10 am in the morning.  Most often, only the melody line is sung by the choir, so men may participate in this form of stewardship who feel that they might have some difficulty singing a tenor or bass part.

Weddings - You may email the music director if you would like to have her arrange music for your wedding.  She plays and sings at weddings, but also can suggest other singers, a trumpet player, or a flutist.
