PRAYER GROUPS

ROSARY: The rosary is prayed every weekday morning before Mass in the Church at approximately 7:40 . Prayers are for members of our parish and the Wailing Wall petitions.

LITURGY OF THE HOURS SHORT VERSION: No regularly scheduled meetings of this prayer group are currently ongoing. The celebration of the Liturgy of the Hours is not only harmonizing the voice with the praying heart, but also a deeper understanding of the liturgy and of the Bible, especially of the Psalms. Prayer books are available through the Religious Education Office by calling 883-1742.

ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT/MARIAN CENACLE: Meets Wednesdays at 6:15 p.m. Marian Cenacle is an invitation to prayer. The Cenacle is composed of the following: Invocation of the Holy Spirit, Recitation of the Holy Rosary, Prayers for our Holy Father, Pope John Paul II, Reading and Meditation on one or more messages given in the book, To the Priests, Our Lady's Beloved Sons, Fraternal sharing, Act of Contrition to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. This usually is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. The Cenacle begins with 10 minutes of quiet followed by Divine Mercy Chaplet, and hymns dispersed throughout. Adults and children welcome. Leader: Connie Gelinas, 883-6846

CENTERING PRAYER: Meets every Friday at 9:00-10:00 a.m. in the Chapel. Leader is Ann Howard. It is a silent prayer based on Lectio Divina where the Word of God is so read and meditated that it becomes prayer. It starts with invocation of the Holy Spirit, reading of a scripture passage and then meditation using a sacred word such as Jesus or Mary to keep centered on. Through this type of contemplative prayer, we open our minds and hearts to God's divine union with us which He so desires. All are welcome.

PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY:   Knitters meet every other Thursday @ 9AM in Room 4. “Shawls have been made for centuries, a universal and embracing symbol of an inclusive, unconditionally loving God. They wrap, enfold, comfort, cover, give solace, mother, hug, shelter and beautify. Those who have received these shawls have been uplifted and affirmed, as if given wings to fly above their troubles...." Janet Bristow, Founder of Prayer Shawl Ministry. Please call Barbara Foley FMI 883-4621.
